New Vampire Hunter D Comics Coming From DDP

(June 28, 2008) – Devil’s Due proudly announces a publishing deal with Digital Manga Publishing that will bring original Vampire Hunter D comics to the U.S. Already a cult favorite among fans, the hugely popular international star of novels, manga, and full-length animated movies will make his monthly U.S. comic-book debut from DDP. The first series, entitled American Wasteland, will have a noticeably North American feel never before seen in the Vampire Hunter D mythos, while closely paying respect to the history of « D. »

Originally created by Japanese novelist Hideyuki Kikuchi, Vampire Hunter D follows its title character in a distant post-apocalyptic future where vampires have overrun Earth. Half human and half vampire, D is a supernaturally enhanced vampire hunter forced to survive as an outcast from both humans and vampires.
