Savage Dragon #145’s All-New Barack Obama Cover!

[ENGLISH] Image Comics tells us: USATODAY’S POP CANDY REVEALS SAVAGE DRAGON #145’S ALL-NEW BARACK OBAMA COVER! February’s SAVAGE DRAGON #145 to feature Obama’s first comic book appearance as President, variant cover. 17 December 2008 (Berkeley, CA) – Yesterday morning USAToday’s Pop Candy blog finally revealed the Barack Obama variant to Erik Larsen’s SAVAGE DRAGON #145, coinciding with his first comic book appearance as President.

« I had always intended to follow up Dragon’s previous presidential campaign with his own endorsement, but I never anticipated how much heat it would generate, » Larsen said. « When Barack appeared on the incentive cover of SAVAGE DRAGON #137 as a candidate it led to the book going through numerous printings. This time out the media has, again, picked up on the story and I was hoping to get the word out so that retailers wouldn’t get caught short once more. »

The road to SAVAGE DRAGON #145 began earlier this year, as the Chicago Tribune announced Dragon’s much anticipated return to the Chicago police force after over a decade as an independent vigilante. In addition, the report featured an exclusive comic strip with with Barack Obama’s very first comic book appearance as President, which will also be part of the issue.

SAVAGE DRAGON #145 OBAMA COVER (DEC082233) and DRAGON COVER(DEC082232), both 32-page full color comic books for $3.50 each, will be available in stores February 25th. The announcement can be seen at http://blogs.usatoday.com/popcandy/2008/12/exclusive-obama.html.
