99-Cent Special To Unleash Hama And Omega

[ENGLISH] Devil’s Due breaks out an elite military comics task force this July with writer Larry Hama’s 99-cent Spooks: Omega Team #0. The series will spin out from the pages of Devil’s Due’s current Spooks series, which Hama is writing along with NewYork Times Best Selling fantasy author R.A. Salvatore (DemonWars) and writer/director Ryan Schifrin (« Abominable »), and feature a black ops task force formed to deal with the worst supernatural threats ever faced by mankind.  The first three issues of Spooks so far have sold out and the decision was made to move to monthly status.  Series creator Schifrin said, « I grew up reading Larry’s GI JOE comics and I wanted to give Larry an opportunity to do a monthly series where he has total creative freedom to do whatever he wants.  I’m so happy that the fans have supported us and provided this chance to expand the world of SPOOKS. »

Hama is known for his Godfather status as one of the defining creators behind G.I. Joe.  He also has an advisory role on the Joe film, currently in production.  Hama, who is notorious for his action writing on G.I. Joe and Wolverine, will team up with Spooks artist Adam Archer for issue #0 before kicking off Omega Team #1, which will bring on DDP artist Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash, Halloween: Nightdance).

Omega Team #0 takes Hama’s team to South America, where rumors of voodoo and zombie slaves threaten to erupt into a global catastrophe when the taskforce uncovers an even greater evil. The 24-page event will also feature cover art by Jim Daly and Grant Goleash.
