Buck Blasts off In Time For Free Comic Book Day!

[ENGLISH] Dynamite tells us: The futuristic adventures of Buck Rogers from Dynamite Entertainment are spanning the comics Galaxy toward fans well in time for Free Comic Book Day (May 2nd), with the all-original #0 issue available to fans for just .25 cents! Writer Scott (Batman) Beatty and artist Carlos Rafael, along with cover art by John Cassaday (and a special « sneak peek »: Alex Ross incentive cover!), present an original 12 page comic book adventure – « The Death of Buck Rogers »! But the journey doesn’t stop there – Buck Rogers #1 is set for release in June with 50/50 cover artists Alex Ross and John Cassaday! Demand is high for Dynamite’s Buck Rogers, with initial sales of the #0 issue clocking in at close to 75,000 copies for the Direct Market, and Dynamite planning an aggressive 20% overprint to meet retailer demand for re-orders. Issue #0 will ship from Dynamite to be in stores by April 22nd, and retailers can decide to sell the books right away (give away the books right away for those that choose to), or save them for Free Comic Book Day.

« We’re extremely happy with the sales of Buck Rogers #0, and even happier that we were ready to go to press in order to make it into stores in time for this year’s FCBD the second Diamond’s initial retailer orders came in. With most publishers shipping their FCBD books far ahead to allow for any shipping errors to be adjusted, we wanted to allow for the same as soon as possible. This also allows for retailers to re-order copies if they would like more copies for Free Comic Book Day. We would like to thank retailers for their support of one of the most iconic characters coming back to comics with such a wonderful creative team, and have a special surprise for them as well. We believe having so many copies of #0 available for advance re-orders and re-orders should allow for retailers plenty of time to read, promote and enjoy the comic themselves, and have a better feel for orders on #1 based on the quality of the comic and fan feedback! And to thank our retailer partners, we’re placing a special rare variant to #0 in an upcoming issue of Diamond Dateline as a thank you gift. » stated Nick Barrucci
