Michael Golden Art in MoCCA’s « Things That Go Bump »

[ENGLISH] New York– In case you didn’t get your gallon of ghoulishness for Halloween, the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art in Manhattan has announced that their « Things That Go Bump » exhibit will continue until March 17, 2008 at their downtown gallery location. “Things That Go Bump…” is an all-ages exploration of the ways iconic monsters have been represented in artwork from comics, cartoons and animation. It is a piercing gaze into the ways in which the human experience has been reflected in the malformed shapes of traditional monster archetypes, with pieces featuring zombies, demons, vampires, ghosts, and witches galore. Not to forget Frankenstein’s Monster and Dracula taking center stage.

Artist Michael Golden is also loaning a piece for the exhibit that focuses on relatively new monsters in our lexicon with one of his terrifying intelligent dinosaurs from « Jurassic Park. »  Other works on display include pieces from Charles Addams, Kenneth Bruce Bald, Nick Cardy, Gene Colan, Rick Geary, Dick Giordano, Richard Howell, Tania del Rio, Jack Kirby, Mike Mignola, Paolo Rivera, Mike Royer, Joe Staton, Batton Lash, Mike Vosburg, Gahan Wilson and Chip Zdarsky, and more!

This fantastic collection is made possible through a grant from the Independence Community Foundation, with additional support from Carroll Musical Instrument Rentals and Weird Tales Magazine. The MoCCA museum is open to the public and is located at:
