New Spawn Covers From Legendary Artist Michael Golden

[ENGLISH] Image Comics tells us: Berkeley, CA – 10 August, 2011 – Beginning this October, Todd McFarlane’s long-running creator-owned series SPAWN will welcome comics legend Michael Golden to the team as he signs on as the series’ regular cover artist.

Revered amongst comic book pros and fans alike since bursting onto the scene in the mid-’70s, Golden is perhaps best known for his work on Micronauts and The ‘Nam. He has worked on virtually every major character in comics from Superman to Spider-Man, from the X-Men to the Avengers – and well beyond when you add his amazing cover work to the tally.

« I’ve been a fan of Michael Golden’s almost as long as I’ve been a fan of comic books. He’s been a huge influence on my artwork over the years , » said McFarlane. « After having the pleasure of inking him on the 200th Anniversary issue of SPAWN, I knew I wanted us to work together again in the near future. When the opportunity presented itself soon after, I knew he was the perfect choice for cover artist. Don’t miss his debut in this month’s issue of SPAWN! »

Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson added, « Between getting back on schedule and a fresh creative team that’s pushing the story into new and exciting places, SPAWN has been at the absolute top of its game this year. Adding a powerhouse like Michael Golden to the mix is only going to strengthen an already top-notch series. »

Since his new life as the Hellspawn began, Jim Downing has been at odds with his new life. Now, following his confrontation with Clown, Jim is ready to step from the shadows and claim his place as a new messiah for the Digital Age.

SPAWN #213, a 32-page full color comic book for $2.99, will be in stores November 2 and will be available to order in the September issue of Previews. SPAWN #210 is on sale now.
